The Center for Pediatric Dentistry

Change in Services

To Our Patients and Referral Sources:

Effective February 2016, we have a change in our specialty services.

Oral Surgery:

  • Due to demand that far exceeds our capacity, we have limited outside referrals for oral surgery to patients under age 12.
  • For children who are medically complex and you anticipate that they will need treatment under general anesthesia, please refer directly to Children’s Hospital for consultation with one of their oral surgeons. To download the new patient referral form, go to the Children’s web page, fill out the form and fax it to: 206-985-3121. If you have any difficulties, please contact Nancy Henry at oralsurgerycoordinator@seattlechildrens.org.

Endodontics:

The Center for Pediatric Dentistry no longer offers endodontic services. For older patients who can tolerate endodontic treatment without sedation or general anesthesia, you may refer to the UW Department of Endodontics, fill out the Endodontic Referral form and fax to 206-616-9786.

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD):

Due to demand that far exceeds our capacity, we are no longer accepting external referrals for TMD services. We are still able to treat medically complex children who have care through Seattle Children’s Hospital. If you think your patient qualifies, please submit a referral, and we will determine eligibility.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns. Dr. Travis Nelson can be reached at 206-543-0980 or by email at tmnelson@uw.edu
