Promising new dental approach for patients with autism outlined
Dr. Travis Nelson of The Center for Pediatric Dentistry faculty has been developing a new approach to the dental treatment of children with autism for the last year and a half. It entails a low-key, gradual exposure of the child to the dental environment with small, achievable steps tailored to the individual patient.
This approach has achieved remarkable results in many cases, and Dr. Nelson discusses it in detail in a post on the Seattle Children’s hospital Autism Blog.
